Reading

 

We encourage children to become aware of

printed words, and develop an understanding 

that print conveys meaning. One way we 

support this developing awareness is through 

access to a well stocked bookcase and reading area.

 

Respect for books at Busy Bees Pre-

school is encouraged through modelling correct handling. Skills such as turning pages one at a time are supported. 

 

The children are also encouraged to listen to 

stories, join in with songs, action rhymes and 

nursery rhymes.
